Warriors drop home opener against Lawrence Tech

After winning twice on the road, the Rochester University volleyball team dropped its home opener against Lawrence Tech 3-1 on Oct. 7.


The Blue Devils' won the first set, 25-16, while leading on attacks with 31. During the second set, the Warriors' tied the score at 16 before outscoring its opponent 9-2 to win the set. The Blue Devils' trailed four times in the final two sets, but went on to win, 25-19, and 25-22, respectively.


  • Maratha Torres led the Warriors in kills with 10.

  • Autumn Deshetsky served nine aces.

  • Mackenzie Winger had 11 errors on 40 attacks.


In his second season, Coach Joe Podvin fell to 1-10 at home with his only win against University of Michigan Dearborn on Oct. 9, 2019.


The Warriors will travel to Concordia University-Ann Arbor on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. to play the 0-2 Cardinals.
