After winning twice on the road, the Rochester University volleyball team dropped its home opener against Lawrence Tech 3-1 on Oct. 7.
The Blue Devils' won the first set, 25-16, while leading on attacks with 31. During the second set, the Warriors' tied the score at 16 before outscoring its opponent 9-2 to win the set. The Blue Devils' trailed four times in the final two sets, but went on to win, 25-19, and 25-22, respectively.
Maratha Torres led the Warriors in kills with 10.
Autumn Deshetsky served nine aces.
Mackenzie Winger had 11 errors on 40 attacks.
In his second season, Coach Joe Podvin fell to 1-10 at home with his only win against University of Michigan Dearborn on Oct. 9, 2019.
The Warriors will travel to Concordia University-Ann Arbor on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. to play the 0-2 Cardinals.
