Christmas treat recipes

Winter is upon us along with the joyous celebrations of Christmas, New Year’s Eve and snow. Here are a few short recipes for treats that you can whip up at home to help you celebrate the season. Snuggle up under your fuzzy blanket and enjoy these treats as you sit back and relax with your favorite show.


Rudolf’s antlers (chocolate covered pretzels with Christmas sprinkles)


Ingredients

-Pretzel rods (long or short)

-White chocolate & red chocolate pellets (pellets optional for drizzle)

-Frosting bag (optional for drizzle)

-Sprinkles

-Parchment paper

Directions

Step 1: Get your two colors of chocolate ready. Either microwave it in a bowl, or use a double broiler.

Step 2: When your chocolate has melted, cover your pretzels halfway.

Step 3: After you have covered your pretzels in chocolate place them on parchment paper

Step 4: Right before the chocolate hardens too much, sprinkle sprinkles on top of them.

Step 5: Pop the tray in the freezer till the chocolate hardens then defrost them and enjoy!


Christmas cookies


Ingredients

-Sugar cookie dough

-Frosting

-Sprinkles

Directions

Step 1: Get your sugar cookie dough (Pillsbury sugar cookie dough is quick and simple to use)

Step 2: Bake your sugar cookies, following the directions on the cookie dough packaging

Step 3: After you’re done baking your cookies, put them on a cooling rack and let them cool.

Step 4: Paste your frosting on the cookies and add sprinkles.



Santa’s hot cocoa


Ingredients

- Hersheys cocoa powder

-Milk

-Whip cream

-Christmas sprinkles

-Marshmallows

Directions

Step 1: Heat up your milk in a pot on the stove/microwave

Step 2: While the milk is warming up, gather your cocoa powder, whip cream, sprinkle and marshmallows

Step 3: Add your desired amount of cocoa powder into the mug

Step 4: Take the milk off the fire and pour it into your mug containing the coco powder

Step 5: Stir the milk and coco until it is dissolved throughout

Step 6: Add your whip cream and top it off with marshmallows and sprinkles as desired!



Elf’s hats (Chocolate covered strawberries)

Ingredients:

-Strawberries

-Chocolates

-Christmas sprinkles

Directions:

Step 1: Melt your chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in a bowl and pour it into another bowl.

Step 2: Wash your strawberries then dry them.

Step 4: Take your strawberries and dip them in the chocolate.

Step 5: After you have your chocolate-dipped strawberries, proceed to sprinkle some sprinkles on top of them.

Step 6: Take your tray of strawberries and put them in the fridge/freezer to chill.

Step 7: Wait 7-10 minutes then pop them out of the fridge/freezer and enjoy!




Reindeer food

Ingredients:

-Popcorn

-Chocolate

-Pretzels

-Sprinkles

Directions:

Step 1: Gather your popcorn, sprinkles, pretzels and chocolate candies (of your choice) I recommend mini m & m’s.

Step 2: Get a mixing bowl (this will be the only bowl you will be using, unless you want to mix the ingredients in one bowl then transfer the final batch to a fancy bowl)

Step 3: Add your desirable amount of each ingredient: popcorn, chocolate, pretzels and sprinkles

Step 4: Mix up all the ingredients and then enjoy!
