In my master’s program, I had to be away from my family over the summers while taking classes in Illinois while they remained behind in Michigan, although they did join me for one of the summers.

I wanted to share my passion for science with others.

What are your favorite things to do when you aren’t teaching?

Camping and hiking, enjoying family, playing music, sitting around a campfire in the backyard,

What advice would you like to give to the students at RC?

Take advantage of the opportunities in front of you. Pour yourself into the “college experience” and don’t waste your time on meaningless pursuits. Learn all you can and try new things. Don’t be afraid of failure. Seek God with all your might. CHECK YOUR EMAIL!

Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?

It is difficult to say where I will be in 10 years. I plan to be at RC for the foreseeable future, however, I may eventually transition to some sort of ministry opportunity. We will see what doors God opens along the way.

What are your goals for this year?

-          Continue progress on setting up program assessment rubrics and assignments for both the Biology and Health Sciences majors.

-          Grow closer to Jesus and encourage others to do the same.

-          Arrange some music.

If someone would play you in a movie who would it be, and why?

Weird Al Yankovic – He could easily look like me and could pull-off a good pun.
