Sports Update Nov 4-10: Lucaj three forces overtime, completes comeback over Grace College

After going 29-3 one season ago, the RC men's team is experiencing a rough start to the season. The team took on Spring Arbor University at home on Saturday, Nov. 4. The Warriors shot 33 percent from the field in the first half with Spring Arbor shooting 40 percent, giving the Cougars a  38-23 lead at half. The Warriors struggled in the second half as well, shooting 35 percent from the field and 23 percent from behind the 3-point arc, leading to a 70-57 loss.

RC sports update: Women's soccer team earns victory and ends streak as fall season winds down

The Women's soccer team also played U of M Dearborn on the 21st. Where they got a victory by a score of 4-1. It was the Warriors fourth win of the season and ended their seven-game losing streak. The women then played Siena Heights and couldn’t continue their winning streak as they dropped the game 4-1. The women play their last game of the regular season against Indiana Institute of Technology on the 28th. Their record sits at 4-12 and 1-8 in WHAC play.

Following injury Abigail Marsee finds her stride at RC

Marsee, a junior on Rochester College’s cross country and track team, was recruited for her track skills. In high school, she threw shot put and discus and ran on the 4x400 relay. She didn't even run cross country at Sterling Heights High School. Instead, she played tennis, was a member of the National Honor Society, mentored freshman, and tutored other students.

Homecoming caps off big weekend of basketball for RC

Forget football, it is basketball Rochester College centers their homecoming festivities around. This year it was a special and memorable one. This was the first homecoming on campus for Rochester College and in the new Garth Pleasant Arena. The events and the double header of games did not disappoint the crowd in anyway. The guys led the day off with a redemption over Redeemer in a 96- 66 win. The game was followed by the women's team who showed off their talent, as they showed up the guys team with a 100- 30 win over Redeemer. The women only allowed 11 points in the first half of their win.

Warrior basketball alumni finds success playing in Europe

Rochester College men’s basketball has made its mark on college basketball over its storied history. With that team success, individual success was bound to follow. After a 29-3 finish and a trip to the NAIA tournament in the 2016-2017 season, Jeroen de Baat, Angelo Griffis and Jaylen Larry all made the decision to play pro basketball overseas in Europe, joining former Warriors Drew Maynard and Stavros Schizas.
